
WINTER TRAIL CONDITIONS
WINTER RECREATION
Nestled along the rolling hills of the Shingobee River Valley, the Shingobee Recreation Area is located five miles southwest of Walker, off State Highway 34.
The Shingobee Recreation Area provides six miles of trails for cross-country skiing. The ski trails are intermediate to advanced difficulty and are groomed and track-set each winter.
Sledding hills are also located at the Shingobee Recreation Area providing great fun for people of all ages! A weekend warming chalet is also available to give those fingers and toes a quick warm-up.
The Paul Bunyan and Heartland Trails intersect in the Walker Area and provide hundreds of miles of trails. The area also includes an array of trails specifically groomed for cross-country skiing.
