Summer in the Leech Lake Area is a haven of sunny days, spectacular sunsets, and nights filled with the songs of nature.
The Leech Lake Area is filled with activities, events, and festivals that make a summer unforgettable. You will find this area holds a stunning array of experiences and adventures that will turn into stories told over and over again.
Take an afternoon for sailing, skiing, or swimming in the crystal blue waters. The Walker Lakes Area is the host of many festivals and events to suit everyone's desire in the summer. Once a month, the gift shops and other merchants of our town turn the streets into a bargain fest you'll never forget.
The Fourth of July celebration in Walker is not to be missed. The Grand Marshal chosen by the community leads the parade through Main Street, followed by veteran floats, horses, clowns, antique cars, and a multitude of other floats. Later in the evening, watch the spectacular fireworks display by water or land.
In the middle of July, is one of the legions of fans to partake in Minnesota's largest Rock-n-Roll concert, the Moondance Jam. If that's not your style, enjoy a beautiful July morning biking among our plush forests while taking part in a charitable event for Habitat for Humanity, YIKES! BIKES! Bike Tour.
