Media Returns From

Governor's Opener

Calls have been coming into the Chamber for media people to return to the area for either a radio spot or print media. They will be broadcasting somewhere in downtown Walker.

This is a promotion of Walker and the Leech Lake Area.

All the hard work of Hosting the Governor's Opener is paying off with sweet rewards.

Internet Committee

We have formed a internet committe. We will be meeting to re-do our Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Web-Site. The Committee has met with ChamberMaster's Team of Senior Consultant's to explain our benefits,

from our web-site provider. With the help from the new Committee, Leech Lake Riders Sno-Mobile Club President Bill Walters and Chamber Master we will be doing many improvements this winter.

We will be adding the Snowmobile area trails map & a weekly snow report. If you have any suggestions please contact Char at the Chamber and we will do what we can. Any idea's are good idea's and we are open for suggestions.

I am also trying to find Biking & Hiking trail maps that I can get permission to use. I have calls into several government offices and individuals that key in this area.

Carol Altepeter from Explore Minnesota met with us at our September Accomidation's Meeting.

The Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is a Tourism Industry Partner with Explore Minnesota.

Carol's presentation on the new Campaign was very exciting. Keep in mind that 79% of travelers today go to the internet for travel information. Over 65% are going online specifically for ideas on where to stay and what to do.

We are looking for a group to add some videos and photo's about the Leech Lake Area to the Explore MN Web-site. Carol explained it can't be entered by the Chamber of Commerce.

Stop by the Chamber and I can give you the information from Explore Minnesota on how to participate in my favorite place in Minnesota.
