You can come to the Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce office to proof your 2008 listing in the destination guide. You will also have the opportunity to proof your listing at the Fall Membership Dinner on Thursday November 8th.
Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Nominees for 2008.
Businesses must have all votes in by November 8th; all votes will be counted at Fall Dinner. Each Chamber business is allowed one vote.

Festival of Lights
Festival of lights committee is working hard getting all the details and loose ends finished. We could use some help on the day of event. Friday November 23.
Help with Kid's Movie, Santa & Mrs. Claus, Parade of Lights, or down at the City Park.
You can still Make Walker Shine by becoming a "Tree Sponsor"
Let's have alot of participation in the parade this year. Anyone can enter so get some lights and help us have the best parade we ever had.
Make sure to stop down at the Walker City Park after Parade and join us for Chili & refreshments, and a wonderful display of Fireworks.

Lake Country Scenic Byway
The community Entrance sign should be close to being finished. Walker is the beginning or end of the Lake Country Scenic byway. It's a beautiful site to see all the participating communities along the route.
Extending the Heartland Trail, a capital appropriation request was submitted to the Senate Bonding committee to extend the Heartland multi-use trail from Park Rapids to Detroit Lakes and on to Moorhead. Laurie Young, Minnesota DNR, will be scheduling community meetings and workshops to gather input on the trail extension.
