The 2008 Destination Guide is here. We have shipped over one hundred cases to different Chamber and Tourist information centers. We are also participating in the 2008 Sport Shows Community Brochure Distribution Program! Leech Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be represented at the following Sport show locations, Minnesota Sportsmen's Boat, Camping, Vacation Show, January 9-13, 2008. Minneapolis Camping, RV & Vacation Show February 7-10, 2008. Family Motor Coach Association, Pomona, CA. February 25-28, 2008. Red River (ND) Sportsmens' Boat, Camping, Vacation Show. February 28-March 2, 2008. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sport Show March 12-16, 2008. Minneapolis Northwest Sport Show, April 2-6, 2008. Over the weekend of January 17-20, Chamber members Mark Harlow from Shingobee Studios and Chuck Schafer from Advon, Inc. will bring our 2008 destination guides to the huge Pheasants Forever show in Minneapolis. Any member that is going out of town or state that has ideas for dropping off destination guides in new places please feel free to stop in and pick some up. The more connections we make give us a better chance of attracting new visitors. We will be working again this year with Discover Racks to specialize in further locations. Explore Minnesota Brochure Display Program will be another outlet for our Destination Guides, in the Mall of America.

It would be nice to get a couple of Resorts on the 2008 Calendar this year.

CMS MEMBERSHIP 2008
The CMS membership program Dues are $100.00 per year and .27cents for small brochures and .62 cents for larger brochures.
CMS stands for Chamber Mailing Service.
When someone calls the Chamber for information on lodging, shopping, resturants & other business's or organizations in the area we mail them the broschures from the chamber members that have signed up to be on the CMS program.
Everyone recieves a Destination Guide when calling for information to be sent to them. If you are not signed up for the program please stop by the chamber office and Cindy & I will start this for you. Please bring in brochures.

The Bantam Tournament was a wonderful time this past weekend. Teams from Pequot Lakes, Superior, Sartell, Anoka and of course Leech Lake Area had a fun and active time. The Best laugh of the weekend was when the Mom's played against each other. They were all good sports and I can't remember the last time I saw such weird fun REF's. The families thanked our Retail Service for having all the welcoming signs in there windows. Visitors had many compliments for our wonderful town of Walker. There will be one more Tournament in January and another in February. Thank you Hockey Families for all your hard work over the weekend.

The club will be open for Skeet & Trap Shooting from 12(noon) til 3:30pm.
Come out for the winter shooting events.
The Clubhouse is warm, the coffee & Hot Chocolate is on.
And some kind of lunch will be cookin.
